Rik Warch has been denied tenure in his current position, according to an announcement last week from the Committee on Tenure and Promotion. Warch, who has been serving as Former President of Lawrence University since 2004, was deemed unfit and unready to permanently fill the position. Warch could not be reached for comment, and it is unknown at this time whether he will seek out a former presidency at another institution or return to his old job as Lawrence president.
"His resumé is pretty thin," said Professor Bertrand Goldgar. "I mean, he's been at Yale, and then Lawrence. Two schools isn't much."
In another release, the committee said they have awarded tenure to Benjamin Horvat in recognition of nearly a decade of service to the Lawrence community.
