Do you want to join the continuing effort to eliminate inadequate housing and homelessness in the world? Perhaps you enjoy planning events, traveling or just working with your hands. Then come and join the Lawrence campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity International. We meet every Sunday night at 7 pm in the Underground Coffeehouse. Plans for this upcoming school year include a disco ball, a '70s-themed dance and fundraiser, local builds and demolitions, the second annual Recycled Clothing Fashion Show, a spring break build trip to New Orleans, maintaining our working relationship with the Board of Trustees of the local Habitat affiliate, efforts to raise awareness and education of international housing issues, and, of course, Shack-a-thon, our largest and most important fundraiser of the year. So come along and help make a difference! We welcome all students--no prior experience with Habitat or construction is required to participate in our group.
