About: Brown sparrow with gray belly and lots of streaking. Distinctive song that can help spot them in spring

Where to find this bird: In weedy areas like the SLUG Garden and brush along the river.

When to find this bird: Mid March–early November with a few birds overwintering

Fun fact: Song Sparrows can be found throughout the United States, but they can look very different with some birds being very dark brown and others much lighter. Birds on the west coast tend to be darker while ones in the east are lighter.
