Eggs, Milk and Bread 

Three simple ingredients can come together and create a wholesome, hearty meal which will sustain you for hours. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, without a doubt. When I am home, I wake up in excitement for what I’ll get to eat for breakfast. Of course, there is the added luxury of having it cooked for me every morning! 

Things are slightly different being on my own. When I’m not living my no-worries-vacation lifestyle, breakfast is a ritual I save for the weekends. I enjoy waking up early, because I feel it’s the most peaceful and calm time of day. 

Cooking eggs and toasting bread does not take very long at all, but those few minutes get me out of my head, and into a meditative headspace. I’m the only one awake, and the only sound I hear is a sizzling pan. When the toaster finally pops and I’ve prepared my plate, I know that I can begin a new day on the right note. Seeing the meal which I made all by myself puts a smile on my face. In a world that often rushes mornings, taking the time to enjoy breakfast can become a small act of self-care and mindfulness. 

It is an opportunity for both the body and mind to feel nourished, so why not celebrate the pleasure of breakfast?
