Coffee: a day in the life

I start off as a small bean encased tightly inside the cherry that is growing on a Coffea Arabica plant. I’m always warm and happy, because my shrub only grows in tropical, humid climates. When I get pulled out of my soft home, I get dried and roasted. This is when I have the most fun, because I’m constantly dancing around and get to spend all day in the sun. The next part is painful, so I don’t like to mention it too often, but I get ground. If I’m lucky, then my whole bean gets packaged and delivered to the world. The grinding process gets delayed. Otherwise, it’s the smallest pieces of me that get sent around. I understand why this has to be done, though. When I become fine, water can easily flow through me, and I become much more enjoyable to consume. I can get quite hot in this form, so be wary. If I wasn’t a liquid, I would just get stuck in your teeth as little gritty pieces. I know that I am loved by many people on this Earth, so my work is worth it. Being able to provide humans with joy and productivity is a great feeling.
