Ever since I had hair thick enough to tie up, I have carried a scrunchie with me in my pocket. It is the only thing that could hold my hair together back home in the Bangkok heat and humidity, so it’s very important to me! My scrunchie is constant in my life, wherever I go. I’ve been using my current one ever since I moved away from home, and it has gone with me across the Atlantic! Through so many different planes and airports, it’s been with me. This one is particularly special to me, because my mom bought it for me from a local Thai store that makes products using pure Thai silk. It reminds me of her every day, and I think of her every time I use it. It’s such a simple, little, every-day item, but it can carry so much more meaning on those days when I miss home.
