Untitled

Letters aren’t meant to be opened
If they’re sent from one not quite well loved
I wrote them to tell you my story
But you saw it as only a present
A symbol of girlish young love

My words are my bone, are my body
Not yours no matter to whom
The letter I sent you was opened
Read only to seal my meaning
Read only to seal our tomb.

Now I sit at the window,
With stamps in my hand, on my desk
And letters unwritten, unopened
From two people who failed the test.
