Question Mark: Change

What is the most important area in which Lawrence should change?

Learning institutions like universities must constantly change to remain current and relevant. At Lawrence, faculty working in various groups are thinking of ways to enhance our interdisciplinary curricular offerings, such as environmental studies, neuroscience and global studies. Others are developing strategies to improve  the ability for students to study abroad. We also need to find ways to improve the services we offer students while also becoming more efficient to contain costs and enhance maintenance of our beautiful campuses and also lowering our environmental impact.  The challenge is to keep this pace of change brisk while ensuring shared governance, meaning all constituent parts of the Lawrence community – students, faculty, alumni, staff – have time to shape our plans.
