Historical photo feature: snow sculptures – a Lawrence winter tradition

A snow couple embrances, 1941 ARC2012-045

As snowman upon snowman is erected around campus in the wake of January’s first big snowfall, we present a delightful archive collection detailing Lawrence’s long-standing love of snow sculptures. These ephemeral monuments are photographically preserved here from as far back as 1941, tracing a – perhaps none-too-surprising – lineage of snowsculpting at Lawrence.
