Life’s Fast Race

There are plenty of stages
In life’s many pages.
Though no two run an identical race,
Every story is spun from the same place.

We start out free and young,
Then into school we’re flung.
Pre-school is where we start,
And after high school is where we part.

Soon it’s time for college
Where we climb in our knowledge.
Then we do our work as told
Until we grow too old.

Too soon the race is done,
And no one cares what place we won.
Though the curtain must be drawn,
In the book of life, we live on.
