LU Track takes 4th, 7th at Wisconsin Private Championships

The Lawrence University track team saw its women’s team take seventh place and the men’s take fourth at the Wisconsin Private College Championships in Carthage this past weekend. Both teams had several high finishers in several events.The women were led by Colleen Detjens, who took home third place in the 1500-meter run. Jess Moser took fourth in the same event. Allie Dietsche took fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, Bethany Shore took fourth in the discus, and Stephanie Kliethermies took fifth in the Long Jump for LU.

The men were led by champion Kolade Agbaje-Williams in the long jump. Agbaje-Williams also took fifth in the triple jump, an event that was populated by LU jumpers; Nate Seminak took fourth, while James Hahn took sixth. Hahn also took third in the 400-hurdles, which was won by LU’s Steve Geisthardt. The Vikings got a second place performance from Mitch Goodman in the 10,000-meter run, and Phil Keith took home third in the 3000-meter steeplechase and fifth in the 5000-meter run. Two Vikings relay teams took high spots as well; the 4X100 relay took fifth and the 4X400 team took third.

The Vikings are now preparing for the University of Wisconsin Twilight Meet, to be held tomorrow
