Carey H. Bostian III (right) will conduct his final concert with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra this Saturday, May 4. A program of powerful and ambitious American works full of the spirit of manifest destiny will feature the second symphony of Charles Ives and John Adam’s “Short Ride in a Fast Machine.” Assistant Professor of Music Anthony Padilla will also solo on Samuel Barber’s virtuosic “Piano Concerto.” The concert will be at 8:00 p.m. in the Lawrence Chapel.
