Two members each from the men’s and women’s basketball teams were selected to All-Conference teams this year.The women are led by senior guard Beth Pollnow from Mukwonago, Wisconsin. This is her third selection to an All-Conference team, but her first to the first team. Pollnow led the MWC in steals with 4.31 a game, and was third in the conference in assists, averaging 3.81 per game. Pollnow is Lawrence’s all time assist leader.
Freshman guard/forward Felice Porrata from Glenview, Illinois was selected to the second team. Porrata is the only freshman selected to either squad. Porrata was the Viking’s leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker.
On the men’s side, senior forward Ryan Gebler and freshman guard Jason Hollinbeck made the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team. Gebler led the team in a captain’s role this season. Hollinbeck stepped up when junior guard Rob Nenahlo went out with a season ending back injury early in the season. Hollinbeck hit clutch shots when needed, and was a defensive presence for the Vikings.
