The Lawrence University women’s cross country team took home second place in the Midwest Conference Championships two weeks ago at High Cliff State Park. The Viking women were paced be Cate Frazier, who finished third overall. Colleen Detjens took home 10th place, Rachel Lucas took 13th, and Kelly Scheer took 19th. All four women were given all conference honors for their performances.
The men’s team took sixth place overall. Paul Schonfeld was the lone all-conference performer for the men, finishing in 17th place.
Volleyball finishes season at MWC Tourney
The LU women’s volleyball team finished their season at the Midwest Conference Tournament two weeks ago. The Vikings won one game and lost two in the double-elimination tournament. The Vikings defeated Knox 3-1 and then lost their next two matches to St. Norbert 3-0 and to Beloit 3-0 to end their season. The young Vikings will not graduate a single player this season, so look for them to be more experienced and compete for one of the top spots in the MWC next fall
