The denial of the “privilege” of FGH to Delta Tau Delta has made my decision regarding future contributions to Lawrence much easier. The main reason I contributed anything in the past was in recognition of the lifelong friendships, memories, and opportunities that resulted from my involvement in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Lawrence.
The hostility and disdain shown for Delta Tau Delta in recent actions taken against it indicates a fundamental change in the climate at the university-a change for the worse, in my view-and I have no desire to be a part of the “modern” Lawrence University.
I sincerely doubt that I would have the friends (indeed, brothers) I now have if this current climate had existed in the past.
There will be much missed by the current and future students of Lawrence. A pity.
