Rachel Lucas placed in one event and was part of a winning relay team for Lawrence University at this past Saturday’s University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational. Lucas, a sophomore from Apple Valley, Minn., placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 37.19 seconds. She also ran on the Vikngs’ winning distance medley relay team. The team of Lucas, Jess Moser, Colleen Detjens, and Courtney Miller ran to victory in 13:17.90.
Brendan Falls was a key player in LU’s sweep of its three-game homestand this past week. For the week, Falls averaged 11.3 points and shot 50 percent from the floor. The junior forward from Park Ridge, Ill., had his biggest game of the week last Friday when he scored a game-high 17 points in Lawrence’s 81-50 victory over Lake Forest College. He followed that up by scoring 12 points in the Vikings’ 89-59 blowout of Illinois College. He added five points in Lawrence’s 85-50 win last Tuesday over St. Norbert College. For the three games, Falls hit 12 of 24 shots from the floor, including 8 of 17 (47.1 percent) from beyond the 3-point line.
