Nick Morphew

Lawrence University standout Nick Morphew went 5-0 this past weekend and was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week after going 5-0 this past weekend. Morphew started his week by pinning the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Paul Lundgren in 2 minutes, 39 seconds, as part of Lawrence’s 26-15 win over the Blugolds last Friday. He then went 4-0 at the Private College Championships on Saturday to take the title at 133. Morphew beat Brian Taylor of North Central College 10-4 to take the championship. Morphew has won the title in all three tournaments in which he has participated this season. He is 23-1 on the season and has won 20 consecutive matches.Chris Braier

Chris Braier averaged 24 points and 20 rebounds, as Lawrence University won a pair of Midwest Conference games this past weekend. Braier, who was named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week, had 10 points and 19 rebounds in only 18 minutes of action Friday in Lawrence’s 101-68 victory over Monmouth. He then scored 38 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in the Vikings’ 125-111 victory over Grinnell to secure Lawrence’s hold on first place in the conference. He shot 17 of 27 from the floor (63 percent) in the two games and picked up four assists, four steals, and a block.

Andrew Isaac

Lawrence University goaltender Andrew Isaac led the Vikings to a 1-0-1 record this past weekend and was selected as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week. Isaac, a freshman from Mississauga, Ontario, made 41 saves in Lawrence’s 5-3 win at Northland College Lumberjacks last Friday. He followed that up with 31 saves in a 5-5 tie with Northland on Saturday. Isaac, who improved to 3-8-1 on the season, had a .904 save percentage on the weekend.
