And Another Thing!

I was really happy to see fellow alums writing in to complain about this stupid idea to “ban” stripping. Its not even remotely sexual when you’re doing it, its more like a collective, primal scream of relief of 8 months of cold, studying and downer food. I want to state also that many of us have been talking about upcoming reunions and staying involved (I recently volunteered to be an alumni representative of LU at high school college fairs etc). However, we all agree that if this goes through, we’re out. Since i am one of the 3 people I know who hail from South of the Mason-Dixon line, you can kiss that kind of geographic diversity good bye, and believe you me, you need it. Half of the reason the socialk climate at LU is so divided is because you are all from the same frozem chunk of the world and half of you want to see/experience something else, the other half truly believe that there is nothing worthwhile in life outside of Wisconsin.

Not to mention, i cannot in good conscience promote a college that supresses and bans anything. ITs stupid and frankly not inkeeping with the progressive education that i received there. I think the bottom line points to the honest truth about LU. Wonderful progressive liberal education cannot possibly thrive in a climate of CRAP administrators who have no shared ideas, education or values with the faculty. That is not to say we ought to divide them, but rather hire QUALIFIED and LIKE MINDED people. No more RLA’s and RHD’s who arent LU grads. No more admin people who do not appreciate what students do when its 10 below for 10 days in a row (lining toilets up on the roof of Plantz or mounting objects onto the cupola of Main Hall).
LIVE A LITTLE-LU SHOULD BE IN THE BUSINESS OF TEACHING A LITTLE BIT OF LIFE WITH LESSONS, NOT JUST BOOK KNOWLEDGE. AND IF THEY DECIDE THEY CANT HANDLE IT, PLEASE GO AHEAD AND FIRE ALL OF YOUR TENTURED PROFESSORS, SO OTHER PEOPLE CAN ENJOY THEM ELSEWHERE-I AM SURE MANY OF THEM WOULD PREFER A WARMER CLIMATE.
