BaseballRick Herzog posted a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA last week for the Lawrence University baseball team.
A junior from Chicago, Herzog got his first win of the week in relief against the UW-Oshkosh last Tuesday. He pitched 5.1 innings, allowed three hits, two runs, struck out four and walked one in Lawrence’s 10-8 win over the tenth-ranked Titans.
Herzog followed that up by beating Beloit 2-1 on Saturday. Herzog went the distance, allowed six hits, one run (unearned), struck out one and walked one.
Track and Field
Sarah Slivinski led the LU women’s track team to the title at the Wisconsin Private College Championships Saturday at Ripon. A sophomore from Eagle River, Slivinski placed in six events and scored 35.55 of Lawrence1s 181.67 points.
Sarah grabbed second in the triple jump (33 feet, 9.25 inches), second in the long jump (15-10.25), second in the high jump (4-8), third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.00), fourth in the javelin (97-2), and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (17.32).
