The Lawrence University Community Council (LUCC) released the results of the recently concluded executive elections to The Lawrentian. Junior Max Loebl won the presidential election, while junior Jo-Hanna Rifai succeeded in the vice presidential race. A total of 652 and 644 valid votes were cast in the presidential and vice presidential elections respectively.
On his victory, Loebl commented, “I am incredibly thankful for the support of my friends and the faith my peers have put in me. I will strive to make Lawrence a safer and more inclusive community. We will continue to build on the past successes of LUCC and focus on bringing campus together. I am confident that together we can accomplish the most.”
Rifai, too, was excited on her victory and looking to the future. “Going through the elections was a great experience,” she said. “I want to congratulate all the candidates on great runs and I look forward to a productive year ahead.”
These results are subject to LUCC General Council approval on Monday, Jan. 25. The Lawrentian congratulates both the winners and wishes them best of luck in the year ahead.
