2002 Grammy Feature

Once again, the Lawrentian’s crack pop music staff will be reviewing the nominees for the Album of the Year Grammy in advance of the awards show on Feb. 27. The nominees are “Acoustic Soul” by India.Arie, “Love and Theft” by Bob Dylan, “Stankonia” by Outkast, “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” by U2, and the soundtrack to the film “O Brother,Where Art Though?” We will begin the series with U2, one of the two old warhorses among the newcomers. Fittingly then, this review is a reprint. Tom Shriner (’01), valued former contributor and correspondent of rock, reviewed U2’s latest offering when it first appeared over a year ago.
