Editors’ Picks: October 23-29

John Hughes movie marathon — Warch Campus Center Cinema, Friday, 6:30 p.m.
This marathon pays homage to the late, great movie director with “Sixteen Candles” “Planes, Trains & Automobiles,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “The Breakfast Club,” in that order. Cake is served during “Sixteen Candles.” Breakfast is served at 11:30 p.m.
Haunted Lawrence tour — Begins at Memorial Union, Sunday, 7-9 p.m.
A must-see for any ghost or Halloween lover. Even if you don’t see any hauntings, this tour takes participants up to the top of the Main Hall cupola and into the bowels underneath the campus.
Oxfam Hunger Banquet — WCC Hurvis Room, Thursday, 7 p.m.
A poverty simulation to provide awareness of global hunger issues hosted by SWAHP and the VCSC. Including a meal, there will be a video presentation and discussion. Entrance fee is one meal swipe.
“Romeo & Juliet” — Cloak Theatre, Thursday, 8 p.m.
Don’t miss the opening night of the re-created Shakespeare classic set in 1980 on the Jersey Shore. Tickets are free for Lawrence faculty, staff and students, $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students from other schools.
