HockeyDanny Schroder recorded his first career hat trick last Friday and led Lawrence University to a 7-4 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association win over Milwaukee School of Engineering.

For his efforts, Schroder was named the MCHA Rookie of the Week. The freshman forward from Duluth, Ga., scored three goals in the first 10 minutes, 36 seconds, of the game.

Schroder got his first goal 3:13 into the game off a pass from Mike Kennedy to give Lawrence a 1-0 lead. Schroder upped the lead to 3-0 at the 5:10 mark, taking a pass from Stu Manning and zipping it past MSOE goalie Matt Hirsch. Schroder got the hat trick at 10:36, scoring off a pass from Matt Melchiori.

For the season, Schroder has seven goals, three assists, and 10 points.

Indoor Track

Shelley Ebert ran to victory in one event and helped set a school record in another for Lawrence University at the Pointer Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point last Saturday.

Ebert won the 400 meters in 1 minute, 1.49 seconds, and helped shatter the school record in the distance medley relay. Ebert teamed with Sally Schonfeld, Jess Moser, and Katy Roll to run a time of 12:10.49, nearly nine seconds faster than the previous mark.
