Warch Center Donors Profile: Kim Hiett Jordan

Kim Hiett Jordan graduated from Lawrence in 1958 with a degree in French, and went on to earn a master’s degree in Information Science from North Texas State University in 1983. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and Santa Fe, N.M.
She continues to remain close to Lawrence and is a strong supporter of the liberal arts. “I like Lawrence, I like the people and I like what they gave me when I was there,” she said.
Jordan joined the Lawrence University board of trustees in 1991, and was appointed trustee emerita in 2007. She championed the effort to rebuild our northern campus, Bj”rklunden, after a fire caused severe damage to the old lodge in the early 1990s.
Her generous contributions to Lawrence also made the construction of Hiett Hall possible, greatly improving the standards and qualify of campus life. The hall is named in memory of her parents.
Through her strong leadership, Jordan continues to strive for the betterment of the Lawrence community. She asks the students to “enjoy it, and make the most of the time [they] have here because these years go by very quickly.
