Lawrence Class of 1982 graduate Terry Moran brought his nationally recognized face and voice to the Lawrence Memorial Chapel Thursday, May 22, giving the address for the annual Honors Convocation. Moran, who was once an English major at Lawrence, has since gone on to serve as ABC's chief White House correspondent and currently co-anchors the network's news show "Nightline.

This September a new group of freshman will join our tight-knit campus community. What kinds of students and individuals can current Lawrentians expect to meet? Our admissions counselors went through 2,620 freshmen applicants and 128 transfer student applications.

As you have hopefully noticed by now, they are building something next to Sage. Perhaps some of you living in Sage this year are all too aware of this fact, hearing daily the construction workers' thoughts and feelings at 6 a.m. This behemoth of a structure is soon to be our new campus center.

Dance to Beat Cancer

Lawrence University will be hosting a "Dance To Beat Cancer" Friday, June 6 from 8 p.m. to midnight on the old Union Street plaza. The dance, which is to be an old-fashioned, big band street dance, will feature all of Lawrence's large jazz ensembles -- the Lawrence University Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Band and Jazz Workshop.

Phi Delt and Theta do cross-dress bowling event

As the group of Phi Delts and Thetas walked into the local bowling alley Super Bowl, they received looks of astonishment from employees and other bowlers. On Memorial Day, some of the men of Phi Delta Theta and the ladies of Kappa Alpha Theta went bowling as a Greek mixer.
